Testimonials for Sítio do Cervo
Stephen Rumsey, Treasurer, Birdlife International. April 20th 2008
We had a really excellent time. Fantastic photographic opportunities, including the Black-headed Berryeater and the Red-tailed Parrots. Plenty of other wonderful Atlantic Forest endemics. Bruno was a very good and careful guide.

First-class guiding by Bruno in an idyllic setting. Sítio do Cervo was even better than expected -- our visit was capped by a sighting of the Black-headed Berryeater.

Sítio do Cervo is an amazing place to relax as well as to learn about the fantastic Atlantic Rainforest birdlife. We have been there twice now and it was certainly a wonderful experience watching such a great variety of birds. Highly recommended!

The views are marvelous, and the silence is only interrupted by bird calls. We had no experience birding in the region, but with the help of an excellent guide were able to learn a lot that would see us through the next day on our own. The bird fauna are as interesting as in our home beat in Central America, even though at the beginning of September spring had hardly begun. The main lodge has a unique architecture, whose simplicity enhances the natural surroundings. Food is excellent and very healthy, and the staff friendly and attentive, without being imposing. For birders and those who want a very relaxing escape from an urban setting, Sitio do Cervo is thoroughly recommended.

Unbelievable place for birding!!

Sitio do Cervo combines posh modern accomodation, good food, beautiful Mata Atlantica forest with great birds. Its feeders boast gaudy tanagers and flashy woodpeckers; its protected Atlantic forest embraces multiple elegant endemics. Personal favorites were the Rufous-capped Antthrushes parading up close, Saw-billed Hermits zooming by Heleconia flowers, Squamate Antbirds feeding chicks, and a curious Black-cheeked Gnateater staring at us big-eyed. Associated guide Bruno Lima is a southwest coastal Sao Paulo expert, as sharp eared as he is well IPOD-armed.
